Almost Halloween!

I made cupcakes for Halloween! They are very similar to these ones I made, but have chocolate cake and white cake plus orange food coloring. The purple frosting is fun too. Cupcakes are so yummy and cute.

Week Thirty.

The Sue Purse was such a giveaway, I would be surprised if you didn't guess my costume.

I am Ms. Pac-Man! She is my favorite arcade game.

Costume Details: I used Simplicity pattern 3833. The purse was also made by me and will be filled with power pellets/marshmallows. I made the pink bow headband a few months ago.

Now I am done with Halloween costumes (unless someone asks me nicely to make them a quick something) and can work on getting everything ready for our party.

Week Twenty Nine

I am a bit behind on my costume, I was sick the last few days and haven't devoted much time to crafts. Here is a work in progress picture to tide you over:

Tuesday I will post my finished costume.

First Place

This weekend was the Cannon Beach Dog Show. Arlo did fairly well winning two first place and two third place ribbons.

Look for my One A Week on Thursday.

Lamb Hood

I had plenty of leftover fabric from Arlo's costume so I decided to make a matching hood for whoever wants to wear it.

This weekend we are headed to Cannon Beach for the Dog Show. Wish Arlo luck!

One more picture of the Sue purse on my flickr here.
You will get to see my finished costume soon. Do you know what it is yet?

I need your help again.

A few months ago I asked for your help in deciding what to make with some fabric and I ended up making a lovely scarf that I gave to my mother. Now I need your help figuring out what to make with these:

Some time ago one of the dollar stores in the area went out of business, but before they did I bought these yellow rain pants. I don't remember what I was thinking I could make out of them, but I do remember that it was just too good of a deal to pass up. These rain pants take up quite a bit of room and I finally need to do something with them.

Facts about the rain pants:
Vinyl
20 pairs of these pants

From each pair: 2 mostly rectangular 20" x 42" pieces
Yellow

I will be taking suggestions from the comments section. If you have an idea, please leave a comment. If you have lots of ideas please leave lots of comments or one really long comment. Thank you in advance for your help.

Week Twenty Seven

Here is Kari's Halloween costume:

She is a police officer. There are some detail pictures of the shirt on my flickr here and here. Just like the skirt, the shirt was originally a thrift store find. I shortened it, cut the sleeves off, and added navy blue binding.

A Skirt.

The first part of Kari's costume is a skirt.

This skirt was a thrift store find that was originally ankle length. I cut most of the length off to make this mini skirt. Tuesday I will post the rest of the costume and you can see what Kari is going to be for Halloween.
