Lots of Rhubarb and Flowers

Since the last garden update, I've harvested so much rhubarb! I've also filled up the new raised beds with soil and manure (they still needed 6 cubic feet with all those branches) then moved some of my old strawberries into the planters. Unfortunately some/most of them died, but I have nearly an endless supply of strawberry plants from their "old" area so I can try again. There are now little baby lavender bushes between the strawberry planters and one has a flower! The sunflowers are growing tall and so many of the weeds are now gone! I do have a problem with some creepy crawlies eating leaves and whatnot so I need to buy and sprinkle diatomaceous earth to get rid of them.

I'm a little bummed that I'm not growing a vegetable garden this year, but my flowers are doing pretty well and my other yard projects are slowly moving along! Oh, almost forgot to give an update on the honey berries: there were none (the tiny baby ones I had seen early on stayed small and shriveled up). I found out that honey berry fruit is very cold hardy and the reason I had no berries was likely due to lack of pollinators (the frost blanket certainly kept any away). Next year is hopefully the year I'll finally get some honey berries, I'm crossing all my fingers!
