Baking was gonna be my profession in another life. . .
I'll let ya know.lisa_trager@hotmail.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34810175.post-64007519987760506882011-12-01T13:24:05.063-07:002011-12-01T13:24:05.063-07:00I don't really have a recipe since I used indu...I don't really have a recipe since I used industrial ingredients, but here are a few pointers:

It will probably be difficult to find dry red coloring (and it is a pain to work with anyway) so add your liquid red food coloring and the vanilla extract to the salt, sugar, and part of the flour (a 1/4 cup should be enough to 'dry' the liquid). Mix this part separately then add it to the other dry ingredients.

If you are having difficulty finding dry buttermilk you can substitute nonfat dry milk or add milk when making the pancakes. Same thing for egg powder, add an egg when making the pancakes.

For the butter/vegetable oil use shortening. Blend all the other ingredients then drizzle melted shortening (use the microwave at 15 second intervals to melt) over the blend and mix well. Sift the blend to break up any clumps then mix again.

If you have any other questions I will try my best to answer them.
