Pottery 1

Last week I went to the first pottery class! I'm using clay I purchased instead of the free student clay and I enjoy it so far, but want to try some others too. The first two things I have thrown are some "matching" cups. I was very happy with the first one (right side of the pictures) and set it on the table across the room so I think I did okay matching it from such a distance, but I think the second one (left side of the photos) is a little bit too narrow and the walls are too thick. Will definitely need to keep my reference closer when I try again. I'll use the thick walled throw away piece for trimming practice. The base will be a large pedestal, but I'm not sure the shape yet.
