Week Twenty Six

Here is Arlo's Halloween costume:

He is a sheep or a wolf in sheep's clothing. Adorable. Here is the back view of the costume:

He looks very sheep like and could easily fool a shepherd. The costume is two pieces and made from white faux fur, lined with a lovely teal colored bottom weight fabric. Surprisingly he kind of likes wearing the costume, except the hat, he really doesn't like the hat. Hopefully this year he does better in the costume contest at the Cannon Beach Dog Show.

On Tuesday I will post part one of  Kari's costume.

Costumes

I love Halloween and it is just five weeks away! I am really excited about the costumes I am making. I have a few things in the works for my dog, my sister, and myself, but I am keeping these costume plans a secret until I post them.

Two years ago I made this peacock costume for my dog, Arlo. Unfortunately he didn't win the costume contest at the Cannon Beach Dog Show. I think it is because the judges didn't realize that it is the males that have the lovely plumage.

Over the next few weeks I will be posting the costumes I am making. Check back in on Tuesday to see how adorable Arlo is in his costume.

Week Twenty Five.

My mom was in need of a crazy hat and I offered to make one for her. After a lot of thought on what type of hat to make I settled on a fascinator and made this:

It has lots and lots of feathers and a birdcage veil. I really like it and wish I had someplace to wear a crazy awesome hat like this.

Free Owl Mask!

This is my 50th post since I started blogging* and to thank all my lovely readers I have made this owl mask template for everyone to enjoy.

If you make an owl mask or a bunch of them I would love to see pictures.

*Technically this is my 52nd blog post. I am omitting my first two blog posts in the count since they were published so long before I really did anything on here.

Update: I closed comments because I was getting way too much spam!

Week Twenty Four.

This week I made more curtains. These ones are for the closet in my crafting room.

These curtains are made from muslin and look really plain. I am thinking I need to do something more with them to brighten the room a bit. I will probably end up dying them, a gradient would look nice.

Hot Pads.

For some reason the hot pads at work keep disappearing. My coworker has been asking me to make some replacements and I finally have.

They work well, but I am sure will get dirty pretty quickly. There are a few detail pictures on my flickr here, here, and here.

Week Twenty Three.

I made this lovely camera strap for my holga.

It looks much better than the plain thin strap that came with the camera. A detail picture of this strap and hardware is here on my flickr.

I am hoping to take my holga out on a picture taking adventure soon and will post some of the pictures for you all to see once that happens.

The bibs.

I started working on these bibs quite some time ago and have given a few updates on my progress. Well, I finally finished them. Here they are:

These are the last two I worked on. Here is the elephant:

The lion:

You can see all the pictures of the bibs on my flickr here.

Week Twenty Two.

Last week I made this curtain for my closet and used the remaining fabric on these curtains for my window.

window curtainThe fabric is from Cost Plus World Market and the loops are made of pink ribbon. I really love the fabric and am so pleased with how my room looks.
