Happy Thanksgiving!

image from LIFE photo archive

I have been keeping a vintage photo inspiration board on Tumblr called Wink and Curl. Today I posted a number of Thanksgiving photos from years past and thought you might enjoy. Hope your holiday is going great! Don't eat too much turkey!

It's a rain cape

Here is a work in progress photo of my cutesy rain cape:

I still need to make the peter pan collar and attach the buttons and bow. I didn't devote enough time to this project this weekend. Instead I got caught up in this KniftyKnitter Loom-Along I found via Craftzine. You can see the progress of my Alice Wrist Warmers here.

This is my last yellow pant project for awhile.

Update: I closed comments because I was getting way too much spam!

A bow

This is part of my latest project I am making out of the yellow rain pants. Tuesday you will get to see what this bow is going to be a part of.

A raincoat for Arlo.

This weekend I made a raincoat for Arlo. There is one more picture on my flickr here. He looks so handsome and is getting to be more tolerable of my photo shoots.

Thursday there will be another project made out of the yellow rain pants.

Dopp Bag

This week's project is a gift. Scott was complaining that his toiletry case wasn't large enough to hold his shampoo and everything so I made him this:

Hopefully there is enough room for shampoo and all his bathroom essentials. I am getting better at making things for dudes; this is much less feminine than the passport case I made awhile back.

You may be wondering where the yellow fabric is. Well, it is on the inside:

There will be more yellow next week.

Bicycle Raincoats

Here is the first project from the yellow fabric. I made a little rain cover for my sister's bike seat and one for mine.

The raincoats turned out nicely and look way better than a plastic bag. More yellow in two days.

Who likes the little little duckies in the pond?

On Tuesday I mentioned that I will be making lots of yellow water resistant things; here is the start of my first project made with the yellow rain pants.

This ducky was stitched using my sewing machine. It was a bit more difficult than I expected it to be, but that may be because I wasn't very steady. There is a detail picture of the ducky on my flickr. Look for the finished project on Tuesday.

The toiletry bag and dog raincoat that I mentioned in my Tuesday post have been pushed back because they need notions that I don't have on hand (a zipper and some large snaps) and I haven't wanted to go to the store to get them. You will see these projects soon though.

Those Yellow Rain Pants

A few weeks ago I asked for some suggestions of what to make out of some yellow rain pants I have.

For the next three weeks I will be making lots of yellow water resistant things. I did get some ideas that I am planning on using, but I think I need a few more. If you have any ideas please leave a comment.

So far I will be making a toiletry bag and a dog raincoat. My dad had the awesome idea of making a raft, but I think I will be passing on that one.
