December Photos Week 1

It was an eventful first week of December! First, Hanukkah where I celebrated by having an almost Sufganiyot, an apple jelly donut with my favorite donut crumble topping from a local donut shop. And over the weekend we celebrated a belated Thanksgiving. I made candied yams and bought the colorful mini marshmallows as a fun treat then found out the colorful ones are fruit flavored and candied yams with a hint of lime is just strange. I do not recommend. They are pretty though. Then while out and about picking up a holiday wreath (that I forgot to take a picture of), I saw some cute bonsai. I am a big fan of unique plant choices for bonsai and there were some cotoneaster bonsai! I've also started eating holiday petit four cakes and am sharing the finished mystery project to which I contributed some minor knitting! My mom made some mitten shaped Christmas stockings for my sister and the little cords I knit are the loops to hang them. You can see a close up of the knit hanging loops here. The mittens were inspired by one of our favorite children's stories, The Mitten by Jan Brett. The story is a Ukrainian folktale about a boy who loses his snow white mitten and a bunch of animals who find it.
