Desert Night Sky

I decided to do another drawing from 15-minute Ink Landscapes by Rosa Hoehn for my oil pastel practice. It is difficult for me to come up with ideas of what to draw, so this book has been nice for that. This drawing is "Desert Night Sky" and originally has lots of little stars in the sky. I was planning on scraping away the black background to reveal the stars, I even put white down first so the stars wouldn't be grey, but my scratch stars did not look good so they were covered up with more black. Orion is a bit large in my drawing, too. Maybe I'll try this one again. I do like the desert plants though.
