Basket Apron

Two weeks ago I told you about a crafternoon sewing project I had started and shared a teaser photo. I finished it and took some pictures! Check out my cool apron that transforms into a gathering basket:

I followed a vintage pattern I found online to make this. Each side of the apron has eyelets for a string/lace. Pull the laces to gather up the sides and make a pouch to hold garden treasures.

The apron is made entirely from things I already had. Hurrah resolutions! The green fabric was from my overflowing stash, the ties are old shoelaces that have survived longer than the shoes. I even had enough matching thread to stitch everything up and used some embroidery floss for the shoelace eyelets.

I'm ready for harvesting before I've even put any vegetable plants in the ground! Prepared!
