Carousel Horse

Over the weekend I painted the carousel horse for my Craft Book Club project for The Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger. I'm a little obsessed with the rambling yellow roses that grow by the side of a canal near my work (they are blooming now) and was inspired by them when I picked out the yellow enamel paint. Here is the horse now:

So, I like it, but is there too much yellow? Should I paint the saddle, bridle, and harness and if so which colors? Should I repaint the stars blue or the flowers pink? Or leave everything just as it is? I'm very indecisive right now.

The next book for Craft Book Club is Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. I've finished reading it already and I'm planning on making a parrot. Hopefully it turns out as well as I am imagining it.
