So Many Weeds

Last month when I shared my garden update I was overwhelmed by the work ahead of me. Well, the weeds took over! Being out of town for two weeks was bad news for me for chores! I feel so behind and I'm not sure if my vegetable garden will even exist this year!

In happier news: My rhubarb also got giant! (They have put out so many seed heads.) I need to make lots of treats, maybe some of the yummy rhubarb mint compote! There were baby honey berries! I had to put the frost blanket back over the honey berry bushes because the lows were nearing freezing, but they should be safe now and I need to take the blanket off and check on the fruit! My new raised beds for the strawberries are in place and filled with mostly dead lilac branches to take up space/compost a la Hügelkultur. I need to buy some soil to cover the branches and fill up the rest of the boxes so I can plant the strawberries. We also have baby sunflowers!

How is your garden growing? I hope it is in better shape than mine!
