Christmas is only three days away and 2021 is only 10 days away! Last week was pretty chill, I had a lot of free time and wasted it away watching Christmas movies, one was really awful and I couldn't even finish it (12 pups of Christmas if you are wondering, don't waste your time).
Over the weekend, I painted some little nutcracker figurines. I decided to paint them a single color, because it is more simple and probably looks better than whatever nutcracker painting I could do. They look cute and are ready to be displayed.
On the last night of Hanukkah I made latkes and they were delicious. It was my first time making them, but I have some experience making tater-tots and was able to put it to use! I decided to eat with sour cream instead of applesauce because I had neither and figured I would use up the extra sour cream before finishing the applesauce. Which would you have picked?
I ate the last sugar cookie last week. It was a sad day, but it was a cute little gingerbread type man with a reattached leg and tasted delicious. We flavor our Christmas cookie frosting; red is cinnamon, green is mint, and white (not pictured) is vanilla. The cinnamon-mint combo is pretty good and those sprinkles are cute!
For our latest virtual crafternoon, we tried making some woven paper stockings from a kit. We spent an hour getting the pieces cut to size then struggled to get the actual weaving started. This was how far I got before giving up. Katie was the only one of the four of us to complete it. Good Job Katie! I'll probably try to start/finish mine this week.
I filled up the bird feeders and moved them to the middle of my lawn to reduce the deaths from the neighborhood cats. The feeders have been empty for most of the year so I'm not sure how long it will take for the birds to come visit me again. How long do you think?
Have you attempted to make the stocking again?
ReplyDeleteThe cookie looks yummy!
I have the bottom glued, but that's as far as I've gotten. The glued bottom should make it much easier!
