I've completed my second resolution, making a cold season cover for a vegetable bed, and now I can get started on a third, growing greens year round! The row cover is made from an old sheet with the ends fitted to the hoops and channels for the wire to pass through. I used tension wire (a 9 gauge wire used for chain link fences) to make my row cover supports which was the most cost effective option I found. Everything seems quite sturdy; I do need to straighten up the wires since they were placed haphazardly because it was cold and I was in a hurry to get back inside. To access the plants that will grow underneath, just slide the sheet up, no need to mess with clips.
