Fruits and Seeds

Here is the latest news from my garden:
The honeyberry bushes I planted in the new L shaped bed I mentioned are all alive! One of the three had gotten quite dry waiting to be planted, but is still alive and growing cute little buds! Next year I may get fruit!

I had several new strawberries that I accidentally left outside overnight because I didn't want all the tomatoes I harvested to smoosh them in my apron so unfortunately the bugs got to enjoy them instead of me.

All the tomato plants are doing well, they are mostly overgrown and producing lots of tomatoes. These photos are from last week where most of the ripe fruit were cherry tomatoes, but this week I have a some of each variety. These bulbous Reisetomates are probably my favorite, they are just so fun looking!

The garden huckleberry I planted is doing quite well. There are lots of berries on the two plants and the plants are much larger than I expected they would be; I planted them under an angled trellis and they are poking through the melons growing over them. I don't think they aren't quite ripe yet, I've tried the berries a few times and they were not sweet.

I've also started collecting seeds from my sunflowers! These are the first two I've removed to let dry, the other day I picked about a dozen more. I will have lots of sunflowers to plant next year and the birds can enjoy the rest of the seeds (they had started eating from some of the flower heads already)! I'm getting very excited for the change in season and setting out my bird feeders again.
